Get In Touch
We answer every email personally — usually within 1–2 business days. Whether you have a question about the calculator, a correction to a number on one of our state pages, a suggestion for a new article topic, or just want to let us know the Site helped you, we want to hear from you. Email is the fastest way to reach us; we do not currently offer phone support.
Because we run a privacy-first site, we do not collect your name or contact information through any form on the Site. The only way to reach us is by sending an email directly from your own email client. This keeps things simple and keeps your data on your device, not in our database.
Email Support
Email: foodstampeligibilitycalculator@gmail.com
Response time: Within 1–2 business days
Monitored by: Wasim Akram, site founder
For corrections, please include the URL of the page, the specific figure that appears incorrect, and the official source showing the correct number. For calculator questions, please include the inputs you entered (household size, state, income, deductions) and the result you received.
Report an Error or Outdated Information
We treat accuracy errors as urgent. If you find a number on this Site that does not match an official USDA or state source, please email us with:
- The URL of the page containing the error
- The specific text or figure that appears incorrect
- The official source document showing the correct figure
- The effective date of the source document
We will investigate within 5 business days and, if the error is confirmed, publish a correction the same day with a visible correction notice at the top of the affected article. See our Editorial Policy for more on how we handle corrections.
Suggest a Topic
We cover SNAP topics that matter to our readers. If there is a subject you would like us to write about — a state-specific rule, a deduction calculation, an ABAWD work-requirement question, an immigration-related eligibility issue — send us a brief description. We prioritize topics that multiple readers request, that fill a gap in our existing coverage, and that we can fully research with primary sources.
We do not accept guest posts, sponsored articles, or paid placements. If you are offering to write content in exchange for a backlink, the answer is no.
Press & Media Inquiries
For interviews, citations, or media requests about SNAP data, the calculator, or the Site, email Wasim directly at foodstampeligibilitycalculator@gmail.com with "Press inquiry" in the subject line. We respond to media inquiries within 1 business day.
If you are citing our Site in an article, please link to the specific page you are referencing rather than to the homepage. The proper attribution is "Food Stamp Eligibility Calculator" with the URL of the cited page.
Advertising & Partnership Inquiries
We display ads through Google AdSense and do not currently maintain direct advertising relationships. If you represent an organization interested in a direct advertising or sponsorship relationship, email us at foodstampeligibilitycalculator@gmail.com with "Advertising inquiry" in the subject line.
Please note: we do not accept advertising from organizations that charge fees to help people apply for SNAP (SNAP applications are always free), from law firms seeking to represent SNAP applicants in appeals (unless the appeal involves a complex legal question), or from any organization whose advertising would create a conflict of interest with our editorial independence.
What to Expect When You Email
When you email us, here is what happens:
- Receipt: You will not receive an automated confirmation. We do not use auto-responders because they feel impersonal and they clutter your inbox.
- Response time: Most emails are answered within 1–2 business days. Complex questions (especially ones that require us to verify a figure against a primary source) may take up to 5 business days.
- Who responds: Wasim Akram, the site founder, responds personally. If a question requires research, we will tell you that and give you an estimated response time.
- What we will not do: We will not add you to a marketing list. We will not sell or share your email address. We will not send you unsolicited follow-up emails. Your email will be retained only as long as needed to respond and to track any corrections you reported.
When to Contact a Government Agency Instead
We are not a government agency and cannot help with application status, EBT card issues, or benefit disputes. For these, contact your state SNAP agency directly.
If you need help with any of the following, please contact the appropriate government resource rather than us:
- Application status: Contact your state SNAP agency. Find your state's contact information at fns.usda.gov/snap/state-directory.
- EBT card issues (lost card, stolen benefits, PIN problems): Contact the EBT customer service number on the back of your card or your state's EBT vendor.
- Benefit denial or appeal: Your denial notice explains how to request a fair hearing. Contact your state SNAP agency's fair hearing office. We cannot represent you in an appeal.
- Reporting fraud: Each state has a SNAP fraud hotline. Search "[your state] SNAP fraud hotline" to find the number.
- General SNAP questions (national): USDA's SNAP toll-free information number is 1-800-221-5689.
Free Application Assistance
If you need help filling out a SNAP application and cannot afford to pay for assistance, free help is available:
- SNAP outreach organizations: Every state has nonprofit organizations (food banks, legal aid societies, community action agencies) that help people apply for SNAP for free. Ask your local SNAP office for a referral, or search "SNAP outreach" plus your state name.
- Legal aid: If you have been denied SNAP and want to appeal, your local legal aid society may be able to represent you for free if you meet their income guidelines.
- 211: Dial 2-1-1 from any phone to be connected with local social services resources, including SNAP application assistance.
Never pay anyone to apply for SNAP on your behalf. The application is always free, and any person or company charging a fee to "expedite" or "guarantee" your application is operating a scam.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take for Food Stamp Eligibility Calculator to respond to emails?
Most emails are answered within 1–2 business days. Corrections are investigated within 5 business days, and if confirmed, fixed the same day. We do not use auto-responders, so you will hear back from a real person — usually Wasim, the site founder.
Can you tell me if I qualify for SNAP?
We can explain how the calculator works and help you understand the result it produced. But we cannot give you an official eligibility determination — only your state SNAP agency can do that, after you submit an application and complete an interview. If your situation is straightforward (no immigration issues, no student status, no recent sanctions), the calculator's estimate is usually close. If your situation is complex, we will recommend you consult an authorized SNAP outreach organization.
Can you submit a SNAP application for me?
No. We are an informational website, not an application service. To apply for SNAP, you must submit an application directly to your state SNAP agency. You can find your state's application portal by visiting fns.usda.gov/snap/state-directory and selecting your state.
I found an error on one of your state pages. What should I do?
Email us at foodstampeligibilitycalculator@gmail.com with the URL of the page, the specific figure that appears incorrect, and the official source document showing the correct number. We will investigate within 5 business days. If you are right, we will publish a correction the same day and add a visible correction notice at the top of the page.
Do you offer phone support?
No, we do not currently offer phone support. Email is the only way to reach us. This keeps our costs low (so the Site can stay free) and creates a written record of every conversation, which is useful when tracking corrections.
Can I advertise on your site?
We display ads through Google AdSense. If you represent an organization interested in a direct advertising relationship, email us with "Advertising inquiry" in the subject line. We do not accept advertising from organizations that charge fees to help people apply for SNAP, or from any organization whose advertising would conflict with our editorial independence.
I am a reporter writing a story about SNAP. Can I interview you?
Yes. Email Wasim directly at foodstampeligibilitycalculator@gmail.com with "Press inquiry" in the subject line. We respond to media inquiries within 1 business day. If you are citing our Site in an article, please link to the specific page you are referencing.
Do you accept guest posts?
No. All content on this Site is written by members of our editorial team. We do not accept guest posts, sponsored articles, or contributed content from outside writers, and we do not offer paid backlink placements. See our Editorial Policy for more.
Will applying for SNAP affect my immigration status?
We are not immigration attorneys and cannot advise you on this. The federal "public charge" rule was updated in 2022 and currently does not consider SNAP benefits when adjudicating most applications for adjustment of status. However, the rule has changed multiple times and could change again. Consult a Board of Immigration Appeals-accredited attorney for individualized advice.
My SNAP application was denied. Can you help?
We cannot represent you in an appeal. If you want to appeal a denial, follow the instructions on your denial notice to request a fair hearing. If you cannot afford an attorney, contact your local legal aid society — they may be able to represent you for free if you meet their income guidelines.
